A comparison of two large scale ridge regeneration procedures
Large scale ridge augmentation is becoming more and more predictable. This presentation shows two cases, one using a Titanium reinforced Teflon membrane, the other a Titanium Mesh to contain the bone augmentation. Both procedures were successful but one was simpler and more convenient than the other.
View Case StudyAn aesthetic problem complicated by loss of a tooth
An emergency patient presented with a cosmetic problem which became more complex when a central incisor need to be replaced. So began a slow but steady progress to an implant supported restoration in between crowns on the three adjacent incisors.
View Case StudyBiphasic Calcium Sulfate bone graft for socket regeneration
Biphasic Calcium Sulfate bone grafts have been used by dentists for generations. Now they are having a resurgence because they are fast, simple to use and economical. This case shows why.
View Case StudyDensification for ridge expansion
A novel range of burs mostly running in reverse have the ability to expand and at the same time “Densify” an implant channel. This case with resorbed maxillary ridges would have been impossible to manage with most single-stage procedures. But with a modest change of technology and procedure it was relatively simple to place implants within the newly expanded ridges
View Case StudyDensification with socket regeneration and sinus lifting for ridge recovery
Removal of teeth with advanced periodontal breakdown can leave an alveolus with severe deformities. Traditionally in healing following tooth removal, these ridges have been allowed to collapse before considering placing implants. This case shows where osseodensification, sinus lifting, implant placement and ridge regeneration are used to prevent ridge collapse and to provide functional supports for restorative therapy.
View Case StudyTreating Occlusal Breakdown
The patient was referred by a periodontist and the general dentist. They were losing control of the case. Everything was failing and falling to bits. What was necessary was to re-think and re-evaluate the whole case. Essentially, this was a Bite Collapse case with failure of the remaining natural dentiton, complicated by failure of the implants that had recently been placed.
View Case StudyTreatment considerations in managing occlusal breakdown
Bite collapse is a syndrome with many aspects, periodontal breakdown, occlusal trauma, migration of teeth, decrease of Occlusal Vertical Dimension, and various forms of malfunction. This case has it all and required a comprehensive approach to improve aesthetics and function.
View Case StudyTransitioning some implants and many teeth
A patient was referred for reconstructive therapy. The situation was made more difficult at the outset by some implants which were malpositioned and failing. These were removed by counter-torquing and then immediately replaced with new implants set in a more suitable position. Considerable bone augmentation was required and provided.
