Planning for two maxillary lateral incisor implants: Part 1
By Laura Ceccacci, Dr. Peter Hunt
The maxillary lateral incisors were congenitally missing and were replaced 25 years ago by Adhesive Bridges. As gingival recession in the region developed and staining became apparent the patient requested something more aesthetic and natural. Implants are under consideration, but the alveolus is narrow and the roots of the adjacent teeth are close by. This video shows how a Surgically Guided approach is worked up using Implant Studio by 3 Shape.
View Case StudyPlanning for two maxillary lateral implants Part 2: Exchanging Maryland bridges for implants
By Dr. Peter Flaherty, Laura Ceccacci, Dr. Peter Hunt
This case shows the planning and therapy for replacement of two adhesive bridges with dental implants. The lateral incisor spaces were very limited. Very careful Surgical Guide Planning was required. With a minimally invasive protocol, a very aesthetic and functional result was provided.
View Case StudyCorrecting a disappointing socket regeneration result in a maxillary central incisor
An extraction of a central incisor with an apical lesion was followed by socket regeneration. See how this procedure was less than successful and required some re-treatment. A stable implant supported restoration which satisfied the patient was provided.
View Case StudyImmediate replacement of a supra-erupted and extruded maxillary molar
This case shows the immediate replacement of a supra-erupted and furcation involved maxillary molar. Despite considerable amounts of bone loss it was possible to place an implant and to provide for bone regeneration in the region at the same time.
View Case StudyPost-extraction retrieval of a resorbed alveolus
A severely infected tooth led to considerable alveolar loss. It was removed and the region augmented. This stabilized the situation and provided the foundation for an implant which came later with yet more augmentation
View Case StudyResolution of gingival hyperplasia following implant therapy
A case presented with severe gingival hyperplasia resulting from local factors around a fractured tooth. The tooth was replaced with an implant with a zirconia emergence abutment and temporary crown. Within a very short time, the gingival situation appeared completely normal
View Case StudyIntra oral scan + digital restorative process
Starting with an Intra Oral Scan (Trios® - 3Shape) a digital workflow is used to develop an abutment and crown restoration for an implant. The precision of this process showed when it was possible to insert the final restorations with no adjustment
View Case StudyRemoval and replacement of a failing implant
Unfortunately, replacement of failing implants is becoming a more and more common. This case shows the immediate replacement of a stepped, tapered implant that was placed 13 years previously. The new implant was placed more palatally. This ensured stability for the replacement implant and allowed the socket of the old implant to be regenerated maintaining facial bone and soft tissue contours
